Work continues on Inverge 2007, the conference on September 6 + 7 in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon. We have several compelling speakers booked–including Dalen Harrison, the CEO of Ensequence and Joshua Green, Research Manager of the MIT Convergence Culture Consortium–and a broad range of interactive convergence topics to discuss.
What is unique about this event and why is Portland a great destination for it?
Because a pass to Inverge 2007 includes not only the 2 day leading-edge creative business conference, but also access to two of the Northwest’s top cultural events starting on the same day and running through the weekend: (1) the Time-Based Art Festival (contemporary theatre, dance, music, film, visual exhibition and installations all over the city); and (2) MusicFestNW (over 130 indie bands performing all over the city).
There is a lot of buzz about the Portland vibe and it is a perfect “neutral zone” away from industry centers to come together and discuss invergence. Over the past few years Portland has come out on top or near the top in a large variety of ways to measure a city.
